William Clayton

The youngest son of Thomas Clayton of Clayton Hall, said to
have descended from Charlemagne.

Came to America 1677 Sent by English Gov. to buy lands from the
Indians or to extinguish Indian title. First Judge of
provincial Pa. Served on Wm. Penn's Council. Acting Governer of
Provincial Pa. 1864/65. Came on the the ship "Kent". Arrived
in New York. The commisioners aboard the ship "Kent". left
London between Mar. 19th and the 31st. They arrived in New
York between the 4th and the 16th of Aughust. 1677.

Jeremiah inherited the James Brown homestead in Cecil Co. Md.
This homestead was restored at some point in time.


Mary (Royal) Coale

When Mary Royal was 12 or 14 years old of age her mother with
many others was forcibly taken to Pennsylvania. There she was
sold as a servant to Caleb Pusey and served her time out. When
freed she married William Cole and settled at Nottingham. As a
widow she married in 1711 Jeremiah Browne.

Thomas Clayton Sir

Of London and Oakenshaw, England, Descendant of Emporer
Charlemagne. Inherited the estate of Clayton Hall, England.

Owned Clayton Hall
