James BROWNE

Came on the Ship "Kent" 1677 to Burlington N. J. The same ship
that his wife and inlaws came over on. James came to Marcus
Hook C. 1680 and purchased 115 acres on Chichester Creek on
12-20-1683, calling his place "Podington". This land was
conveyed to his son William on 6-21-1705.

Henry HOLLINGSWORTH

In 1683 he came to DE on ship 'Lyon of Liverpool' as indentured
servant. He was a blacksmith, home builder, and surveyor.
He helped Thomas HOLME lay out City of Philadelphia. In 1695
he was Chester Co. (PA) sheriff.
In 1700-08 he was Chester Co. (PA) coroner and court clerk. He
was a Quaker and later an Episcopalian.
