William BORDEN

William along with his friend and partner Henry STANTON came
from RI with a shipload of Quakers about 90 and founded the
city of Beaufort, N.C. and established a shipbuilding business.
The forests were rich in the trees they needed, white oak and a
real pitchy pine. Dianne Perrins (Pruitt) has a copy of his
will and when he died he owned about 20,000 acres of land. He
was the largest slave holder in the county with 48 slaves.
They spent their summers in RI to avoid the heat. He disowned
one daughter Sarah for marrying a non Quaker.


William MACE

Married to daughter of Joseph and Sussanna HARRIS (must be
DAVIS) and (2) 1824 to Betsy Ann Moore (1) Rhoda Davis.


Horton HOWARD

Son of Bartholomew Howard and Ruth Stanton marr (1) Anna Mace 2
aug 1791 Grandson of Henry and Hope BORDEN STANTON his (2) dau
of Joseph and Viley DEW took his sons HEnry and Joseph to
Westland Penn and then in Sept 1799 to Ohio.
